Example A: This resume was dense and hard to read at first, so I re-formatted, separated out the dates from the rest of the descriptions, and proposed more concise bullet points. I have worked with this person for 5+ years as their career and job search has evolved.
Example B: I won’t lie, this resume had a lot going on to say the least. It was poorly formatted, the bullet points were not aligned, the descriptions were vague and uninteresting, and above all, it did not reflect the intelligence and skill of the applicant as a worker. See for yourself the before and after of this impressive resume transformation!
Example C: While the resume was pretty clean and organized, it was a bit “in your face” with the colors, not ATS friendly, and the least important information was up top. They also didn’t include all their certifications and they didn’t break out their various employers because it was the same job title with similar duties. I proposed a black and white theme with more relevant industry info, and they secured a well-paying job shortly afterwards. We’ve been updating their resume together for about 5 years and counting.
